Read moreI play this on and off. I come back every few months, play a few runs, then leave. I think one of the most fun things for me in a roguelike is getting wacky item combos, and this is where I feel 30XX is lacking. I don't feel like I often get some crazy combo where my shots spin but also detonate and also penetrate and also spawn helpful bats. I find the boss fights to be too chaotic (mostly later in a run). And the backgrounds are also a bit busy for me. Looks great, but I wish I could tone them down a bit, since sometimes it blends with the foreground. The new character is fun, though. He's a mix of Nina and Ace, and I like him.
