I've been hammering through this one on and off for... God, maybe 3 years now? I played YGO competitively under around 2012 - my signature card was Chaos Sorcerer, I ran an anti-meta banishment deck - and it's been interesting playing through the story mode, as I never watched the anime after the first series.

By and large, I love this game! Using the story decks provides a fair challenge and being restricted to mostly pretty-bad cards from the show - like let's be real, Dark Magician was literally never viable.

But Pendulum cards, whatever the hell those are... They can go right to hell. I thought the meta got stupid with Synchro and Xyz monsters. And it most definitely did, having a near-invincible Stardust Dragon ruin the meta in 2012 was no fun at all. But Pendulums are insanely complicated. I'm almost scared to deal with Link monsters, but on the surface, those seem pretty logical.

Lost two hours of data because the game crashed. Just gone, reverted to when it saved two days ago. The game has no manual save feature, so there's nothing I could have done to avoid this. What a horrible design flaw on an otherwise fine game.

Just picked this up for my Switch last night as I've been craving to relive my glory days of being an avid CCG player. I played Magic: the Gathering semi-competitively for about 15 years but the price is too prohibitive to get back into it but I played Yu-Gi-Oh off and on for a few years and since Magic Arena hasn't come to Switch yet I'm hoping this satiates that urge so I don't drop a ton of money on cardboard again lol. I got through the tutorial last night to see what has changed in regards to the rules (spoiler alert it's quite a bit) and hoping to jump into the campaign tonight!

First play through listed on my account was on PS4 and retired. Second play through was completed on the Switch version.
