ProtoSMASH 2

Combat was really fun. The different powers and being able to change at any time makes it really fluid (even tho I think there is one power that it's just better than the others but it's something that usually happens to all games)

Lots of freedom and movement which is something I always love about games.

Combat was really fun. The different powers and being able to change at any time makes it really fluid (even tho I think there is one power that it's just better than the others but it's something that usually happens to all games)

Lots of freedom and movement which is something I always love about games.

The story is a bit messy in my opinion, at some point i just stopped following in detail as it was just repetitive missions.

Some nonsensical stuff like you can go around with the main character and pass near enemy soldiers and they dont recognise you. Or for example that you are walking as other character flying in the air next to helicopters and they dont care about you... A lot of issues regarding this topic about enemy army just not giving a f**k or being blind.

In the end, it's just better to go full monkey and drop the stealth unless it's mandatory.

12h gameplay with some secondaries(until got bored because they also were repetitive) so it's not that bad for being more than a decade old.

I recommend it if you like to SMASH people and monsters, otherwise you will get bored.

big smash big boom

story was generic ass which had too many convinient coincidences but cutscene style was cool and gameplay was great.

running around destorying shit was as fun as it was in first game, game also wasn't too long that the core loop became boring though some of the collectible stuff got repetative so I didn't do any of them for the …

overall really enjoyed the game hence finishing it in like 2 days lmao

Really getting into the game and it has collectibles - but it's like 5 in each area and each area is not this huge space. This is when collectibles were good, when they were fun little side things you could do while doing main stuff - not 100's of items you need to spend hours running after. Looking at you …

I remember playing the original when I was younger and for some reason always thought the second was ass. Playing it now it is deff jank and bland - but it's the same level as the first from what I can tell so i'm enjoying it.

The sequel that fans of the first game have been waiting for. But the second part failed to surpass the original. Although the gameplay has remained at the same entertaining level, in terms of the plot, the game has degraded. The main character has new abilities, but some of the old people from the first part are missing. And the upgrade tree itself is not so diverse. In addition to the original monsters, new ones have been added to the game and you need to apply your own tactics to each of them. The world, divided into zones, looks interesting to explore. It is filled with events, although it lacks variety. Graphically, the game looks good, but there are significant performance issues. Friezes are found even on powerful systems. The main character is less interesting than in the previous part. His main motivation is revenge. And his choice as an ally of Alex Mercer is not obvious. The story itself is weak and not as interesting to explore as in the first part. Despite some drawbacks, the continuation turned out to be not bad. I think we are unlikely to ever see the third part due to the closure of the studio.

Though the story is as predictable and boring as possible, the game itself is immense fun. Hunting down the mutants and humans alike to increase your power, all the while smashing, bouncing, and flying your way through an infested NYC -- now that's some good frustration venting right there.

This game took the foundation of the original and improved every area, making the game 100% more fun. Story is written fairly well, not incredible but does a good job of fleshing out it's characters and providing some good depth to the overall universe.

Obtained the platinum trophy on the PS3. Had help from the guide though. To achieve the platinum - had to beat the game on hard mode. Was pretty easy as the game has a new game+ mode. The only difficult part was beating the boss. This became doable after learning when you can attack without taking damage.
