Ever since I played Need for Speed Heat and started Forza Horizon 5, I've been wondering why neither game includes a Lotus Esprit. I started digging and it seems that Lotus hasn't licensed the Esprit in several years. The best site I could find on the topic is this clearly fan made Lotus Esprit site that has a listing of every game that includes a Lotus Esprit. If the page is accurate, provided it wasn't abandoned before before Lotus happened to license the car out for a contemporary game (which I doubt Lotus has), the last game to license the Esprit was Forza Motorsport 5. Ironically the game was delisted from the Xbox store due to expiring licenses (wanna bet one was the Esprit?).
Soooo, I found an unopened copy of FM5 GOTY Edition which should allow me to race an Esprit in the most up-to-date game that licensed it. Although I wish it was an X180R, I think's it's the S4 Lotus Esprit V8. Which is fine, it was still one of my favourite sports cars when I was a teen.
