Eleven child survivors band together after the attack and board a gigantic tank known as Taranis - a relic of an ancient but technologically-advanced civilization - in order to travel across the dangerous landscape and rescue their families who were taken prisoner. After Chapter 5, every combat encounter felt like a boss fight. No matter how much I upgraded my tank, I never felt strong at any point. This game is very difficult, especially since you rely on auto-saves that occur only three times per chapter to save your game. As a result, you'll have to get used to losing part of your progress every time you die (which will happen quite often). You can't adjust the difficulty of the game through its settings, but as you progress, you'll encounter several paths. If you choose the safe path, you won't have many fights, which will allow you to reach the end of the chapter safely, where the boss will tear you apart for being at such a low level. However, if you choose the dangerous path, the battles will be almost as challenging as the final boss of the chapter, but you'll gain a lot of experience (if you manage to survive, although most likely you won't.) If you find yourself in a dead end (as you can't grind in this game), the game will offer you the option to sacrifice one of your kids to eliminate any enemy. However, the problem is that if you do that, you're not just losing a character permanently; because with fewer characters, you attack fewer times, meaning you'll become tremendously weaker. Who the hell designed this combat system?! It's awful! It may seem like all I have are complaints about this game, but I liked it a lot, I promise. enter image description here

An underrated gem.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel is the turn-based RPG that you didn’t know you needed, but most definitely do. Being able to chop and change your team of hearty children makes the action exciting, the harsh difficulty keeps things interesting as you plot a course towards bringing down the Berman Empire, while the ingenious Soul Cannon serves its purpose brilliantly as …
