Trying Origami King inspired me to play TTYD again, since it's been about 10 years since I last played through it.
Just now I spent the past 5 hours in the Pit of 100 Trials, trying to beat it before chapter 3, and I died on the 99th floor. -_-
The battle system is so addictive. Honestly for me I think this game aged better than when I was a kid, cuz looking back at my old save file and the badges I have equipped there, I had no good sense of strategy back then.
However as a kid, there was a thrill in a JRPG's seeming impossibility due to my poor sense of strategy -- I'd be stuck on a part for months (if not years), and doing the pit of 100 trials early-ish is helping to recreate that feeling
lol, I meant for this to be a playthrough of TTYD, but I guess the pit turned out to be more exciting for its difficulty since so far the main campaign has been a cake walk, and I've been trying this pit for the past 3 days.
Maybe I should start over and consider a more specific challenge run (and not just "upgrade BP only").
