Year 2012. Six years passed since the time of the Second catastrophe to have made the April events of 1986 fade. The game is set in the Chernobyl exclusion zone which turned from a destiny-breaker place into a threat to all mankind. The Zone is reluctant to open up its mysteries and needs to be forced to do it. It is a rare hero who can reach the very heart of the Zone onto find out what danger awaits him there. A danger which, compared to marauders and enemy groupings, all monsters and anomalies, will seem a mere preparation to the meeting with something more fatal and threatening. But for now… get ready, hero. Collect artefacts and trade, grope your path and keep an eye on the rear, catch roentgens and fight – only make sure you survive! And then, perhaps, if you are persistent and truly lucky, you will find out why all this had fallen on you. Read less

Beat this game for the second time on 7/2/2024. Master difficulty both times. Really fun game, one of the few games I wish was longer which I haven't felt in a long time.

Finished the first mission with Wolf and his scouts. this is such a fun game, the fact this is played more than big american AAA yearly release call of duty games and its from 2007 and from a country which wasnt known for producing big popular games is unbelievable.

Beat this game on 7/29/2023 5:35PM. I liked it a lot, although the last half hour or so was an absurdely difficult slog.

i've been playing stalker anomaly and am so hooked. For me, this is the sweet spot. It feels very fallout-i-fieid with the janky repair stuff, village repeating quest givers, companions (with command wheels), multiple factions and starting locations for your playthrough, and a vastly increased variety of loot. the hardcore mode in it is really great too. a lot of …

i've been playing stalker anomaly and am so hooked. For me, this is the sweet spot. It feels very fallout-i-fieid with the janky repair stuff, village repeating quest givers, companions (with command wheels), multiple factions and starting locations for your playthrough, and a vastly increased variety of loot. the hardcore mode in it is really great too. a lot of attention to detail went into things allowing you to tweak endless options and balance quite a few things to your liking (such as economy, which also seems nice to make jobs worthwhile to pay for supplies and cost of repairs)

all in all it's seeming like an excellent survival sim open world-FPS so far and surprisingly relaxing to play at a somewhat slow pace.

the bad thing? the game is still crazy hard. maybe even harder than i remember it. the AI can hear and see you as if they were xenomorphs, at times not just shooting at you not through the grass you try to hide in, but through the walls you might choose to take cover behind!

stalker is such a great series of games. despite some of it's jankiness and grievances, It's one of the greats like half-life 2, thief, deus ex or doom (at least in terms of ongoing community content by fans)

This is a great game. I played it way back when it was released but never beat it. I recently watched the Chernobyl HBO show (twice in one week!) and it made me want to play again. I put in a few hours to get familiar and may pick it back up. It's a game like Thief. I love it, …

Started playing with a bunch of mods but I can't get into it, even though I love the setting. I just can't keep going. Abandoning after 3 and a half hours.

took a 3 hr test drive of Lost Alpha DC last night with the 'content patch'... It looks and feels exact same as previous versions in initial area, including the bugs (which i actually forgot about) A tip if anyone decides to play... you can change the language to english in the main menu. Also in first mission run to where that helicopter shoots and reload saves if you cannot find your quest objective till it appears. Other than that, watch out for crashes.... Not sure if the build is actually more stable now but it didnt crash yet and that was really the one thing that made me quit playing it two years ago.enter image description here
