I've repeated the sin i commited when playing Pokemon Platinum: play the entire game till' i'm only missing the final boss (or the Pokemon league, in the case of Pokemon Platinum), and then realize all there's left to do is the tedium of grind and a probably too long boss fight, so i just watched the end in youtube and …

'Tis a beautiful game and a treasure for its time. Also finished DQ4 a week ago and didn't logged it. My bad 😃

Strangers on the internet always say this is one of the best Dragon Quest games and they are not lying. About 10 hours in and it's captured my soul. The way it merges whimsy and tragedy remind me of the best parts of Earthbound.

There are still issues with the game. The interface is a little bland for my taste, and the menu system is more clunky than it needs to be. That's an eternal issue with JRPGs, I feel like. Nothing has really ever done a menu in a way that I'm happy with.

These are nitpicky remarks, though, and beneath it is one of the best classic RPGs ever created. If you call yourself an RPG fan, it's a must-play. It's just that good.

Thank you Nico for letting me borrow it!

Amazing game. Really gives you that feel of growing up as a child, becoming an adult, and eventually a father. All complete with absolute tear jerking moments and mind blowing revelations.

Thinking about shelving this one, I'm playing it on mobile and it's disappointing. I put in a few hours, I'm still at the very beginning with a cave, and I can't seem to find direction on where to go next...pretty boring, might just move on even though I know in it's day this was an incredibly RPG.
