Bulletstorm brings new furor to first-person shooter action thanks to its signature 'kill with skill' gameplay. The game tells the story of a futuristic confederation protected by an elite band of mercenaries: Dead Echo. When Dead Echo members Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato learn they've been working for the wrong side, they're betrayed by their commander and exiled to the far reaches of the galaxy. In Bulletstorm, Grayson and Ishi find themselves surrounded by hordes of mutants and flesh eating gangs in an abandoned paradise. They have two objectives: get off the planet alive, and exact revenge on the man who sent them there. Players step into the role of Grayson Hunt complete with an arsenal of over-the-top combat moves and outrageously large guns. Bulletstorm's array of distinct 'skillshots' produces unprecedented levels of frantic gameplay and yell-inducing satisfaction. The skillshot system rewards players for inciting mayhem in the most creative way possible. The more insane the skillshot, the more points players collects to upgrade their character and unlock weapons, which then allows them to execute even more creative moves and exaggerated skillshots. My Fave FPS, 28: Bulletstorm

Bulletstorm is one of those shooters that always shows up on "Underrated Shooters" lists, and I agree. I don't have a ton to say about this one because there's not a lot to say. It's just a kinetic, fast, stylish shooter with cool guns and different moves (pulling enemies towards you, sliding, kicking, etc) where …

Playing some of the remaster/re-release (Full Clip edition)

This was a perfectly competent, fun shooter with great environments and set pieces. It's super accessible. Nothing about the story matters much, and while the dumb humor mostly doesn't connect, it's easy to ignore and amusing when it does hit. Gunplay is fun and varied enough that the game just keeps rolling …

Nothing about the story matters much, and while the dumb humor mostly doesn't connect, it's easy to ignore and amusing when it does hit. Gunplay is fun and varied enough that the game just keeps rolling without much of a hitch.

This game knows exactly what it is and sticks to it, with a short but sweet 8 or 9 hour campaign. Happy to run through this again, but I don't know if a 3rd playthrough will ever be in the cards other than maybe getting some achievements.

I played this is 2020 (i have spare time all of a sudden), having not finished it way back in 2015. Life happened. The result? Well, i enjoyed this game like aged...well, anything, really. I played this is 2020 (i have spare time all of a sudden), having not finished it way back in 2015. Life happened. The result? Well, i enjoyed this game like aged...well, anything, really. It lost none of its charm. Is it pretty? Given its age, it looks good. Are mechanics sharp? again, for what it is, my expectations are exceeded. But now the best part...is it fun? Hell yes!

In a nutshell, Bullestorm is what you would get if you hit the right proportions between Duke Nukem and Rage. The humor is more tempered than Duke's, but still witty. It has the craziness of Rage but forces you to think just a tiny bit before rushing in to a wave of enemies, and yet does not punish if you do...just get the combos and sequence right.

Its neither tempered not boring and hits that nice sweet spot. Is it perfect? Of course not. I did feel like another few hours of gameplay were in order, but that is not a testament to the game being short. Its proof that we are overdue for a second installment. It is still a jewel from what i guess now would be described as 'way back' (damn you short development cycles!) that manages to stand the test of time. The graphics are nice, the gameplay is solid, and the action is abundant.

If you are looking for a nice weekend gig (depending on your availability), fun action without the great deal of tactics, and lots of (literal) right boot kicking, this should fit the bill. And lately its been subject to dirt-cheap sales...so what are you waiting for?! Give it a spin. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Fired up the old relic known as the PS3 and booted some baddies into spikes.

I freaking love this game!

Kind of tough to get all the special kills but so far this has blown all my expectations away! Excellent visuals, over the top violence which I love, and nice selection of creative weapons. Sliding into baddies, shooting them in the face, then kicking over a cliff, pretty sweet!

Only negative is the writing but its not a story driven game so I give it a pass.

For a random purchase of $5 store credit, this game is awesome! Over the top swearing, violence, and gore. The sliding sequences are awesome, creative kills add a layer of almost satire. This game is as fun as I remember it. It's got a Fury Road feel to it. Not only the aesthetic of a desolated wasteland, but also the non-stop action. There's no filler here, and the paper-thin plot is dealt with in short cutscenes.

This started off really fun, but got quite repetitive after a couple chapters. I wish it was shorter.

Its a run and gun type of game. Trying to figure different ways to execute your foes was entertaining. "Fire in the Hole" is my favorite execution. =p The characters and dialogue were boisterous and lacking. "Fire in the Hole" is my favorite execution. =p The characters and dialogue were boisterous and lacking. I didn't really connect to any character in the game, though they all had elaborate insults to throw at each other. I found myself getting bored by the end and rushed just to beat it. The ending wasn't superb, but they left it open for a sequel.

On Act 3, Chapter 2. I'm not really digging any characters in the game. They are all kind of annoying. The female character isn't as annoying though.
