A great puzzle game for your DS
As I kid I played Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis and I loved it. Puzzles were great and clear to understand, which was important as I didn't speak english back then. These fond memories got me to play another sequel in this series - Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again!. And it did not disappoint. …
Minis March Again! makes solving puzzles a great deal more stressful compared to its predecessor. And thats not a bad thing - Right the opposite. In this game you need to carefully make a plan for your Mini Marios to get from point A to point B. And when you got the plan, the real action begins. Mini Marios start to move right away and you need to place platform cubes in front of them to walk on - in real time. However, you need to manage your platform cubes carefully as you can only have a limited number of them placed on the screen at the same time. That means that you need to quickly reposition these cubes as Marios walk over them. Believe me, it gets quite intense in some levels.
Various new mechanics introduced in various stages also keep the game quite fresh. Many come from its predecessor, such are magnetic platforms and door switches. In this regard, game doesn't innovate much when comparing it to March of the Minis. Some levels might feel a bit repetitive but nonetheless challenging.
With that said, hitting the finish line, while collecting all the bonus stuff in the level, always felt amazing. To be honest I can't complain much over this game. I genuinely like it and recommend to anyone looking for a good puzzle game for the DS.
