Okay-ish..

A lot of potential but lacks polish. The core gameplay is fun. The sound design is pretty terrible and needs work. The art style is nice but still a bit blurry. If you're on the fence about this game, I'd say just try it out. It's free and surprisingly, all of the cosmetics in the shop are pretty easily earned …

I convinced my Spellbreak friends to try Fornite "for the lulz"...

... now they don't wanna go back to Spellbreak.

I get it. Fortnite IS the better of the two and scratches better the BR itch... BUT. I. DON'T. LIKE. BUILDING. AT. ALL.

It's a fun casual game

My main beef with this game when I first started was that Battle royal was the only option. you literally couldn't do anything other than that. No personal quests, no other game modes. luckily this 'Chapter' they added a different game mode and it made the game much more enjoyable to play. I appreciate the gold, in the fact that you can grind the daily quest to get it to save up for things. It costs gold to get access to 'Chapter exclusive' stuff, but the game give you the option to just buy gold or grind and save up for it. doesn't seem greedy and that is always a plus. I also like the mixing elements mechanic. That is what initially got me into the game.

tried this one today but i can already tell it's just too mechanically demanding for me with very little reward at this point in my life. which basically just means i'm not willing to spend the amount of time necessary to become halfway decent at it without the incentive of a storyline or something more meaningful (to me personally) than the amount of endorphins i can get from playing it.

i can see the appeal, however. definitely innovative, with a complete lack of hitscan weapons, and lots of interactions between elemental attacks, which probably makes for more varied and interesting gameplay than your average battle royale. if you still have the time and patience for this type of game, it could be worth checking out.
