Probably not for everyone

This game holds a place in my memory from childhood as one of those NES games I had, but had no idea how to play. I'm not sure my dad ever beat it, but he surely had a better grasp on it than I did.

This game holds a place in my memory from childhood as one of those NES games I had, but had no idea how to play. I'm not sure my dad ever beat it, but he surely had a better grasp on it than I did.

Occasionally I would boot it up and go joust or raid, but actually progressing in this game was lost on me.

I booted it up recently and dedicated myself to trying to beat it. This game is hard! Eventually I settled on a strategy to slowly gain territory and succeeded in finally winning!

As a bit of a management and war strategy game mixed with a few skill mini games, Defender of the Crown has more replay value than you may expect and if you are looking to mine the NES depths for some interesting games, it's worth a play
