Slash It Ultimate (2017)

This is a rhythm game clearly made by a small team on a low budget. I don't fault it for that, but the game modes are tedious and the rhythmic button presses are, in some cases, synced imperfectly with the music. The initial game mode, which requires you to hit arrow keys in a specific rhythm a la Dance Dance Revolution or Stepmania, is just puzzling- The arrows come down the screen in four columns, and you would expect Left, Down, Up, Right, like other similar rhythm games, but instead, random arrows come down random columns, making the entire game a brain teaser, as you are trying to train yourself to press whatever arrow you see, despite the fact that it's coming down the left column, which one would expect to be the left arrow every time. Some of the music tracks are decent, but the other game modes outside of the arrows (ones where you instead just hit the spacebar in time, or type letters and words in rhythm) feel like they don't work properly, or simply aren't fun. Overall, I am a professional musician and former competitive DDR player and am all for rhythm games, but this one is not worth it compared to some of the free options available online.
