The Typing of The Dead: Overkill Collection
This review is for the PC (Microsoft Windows) version

This game doesn't take itself seriously, which is breath of fresh air sometimes. It's silly, goofy, and funny, but the humor might not be for everyone. The character dynamics are pretty interesting, it's like the buddy cop scenario where the duo's personality clashes, but it works out. Story is whatever, but it's a shame it ended on a cliffhanger with no sequel in sight. I wish there were more enemy variety, most enemies and bosses were humanoid and not incredibly engaging. Typing of the Dead on Dreamcast had more memorable boss fights in my opinion. Final boss is actually the worst in the game, you can literally just mash your keyboard. My biggest complaint is that it's a bit tough to tell which enemy is closer to you because a lot of the phrases overlap with each other. I probably would've liked it more if I played it on the Wii or Switch or something. Really wish I were able to rebind controls, I found myself …

I probably would've liked it more if I played it on the Wii or Switch or something. Really wish I were able to rebind controls, I found myself misclicking a few times on the default controls. The camera sways are pretty annoying and enemies are able to attack earlier than I'd expect them too. Sometimes they don't really have a windup and sometimes they attack before you even stop moving during transitions. Pretty fun game, it definitely feels like a product of the late 2000s and early 2010s,
