New Super Mario Bros. is a side-scrolling 2.5D action-adventure platformer game for the Nintendo DS, starring Mario and Luigi. The game features a solo story mode with Mario or Luigi, a two-player wireless game Mario Vs. Luigi, as well as a minigame mode for up to four players. The gameplay of New Super Mario Bros. is very much like that of the classic 2D platformers, mostly Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. 3, and substantially builds upon them to create gameplay both classic and contemporary. As the game is on DS, the touch screen allows players to store an additional power-up and view the distance still to go in a level. Read less

Fun game! I grew up playing this so I have a lot of nostalgia for it. As a game though its a cool comeback for the 2D mario series but then it just went on and on...

I thought I had 100% completed this game as a kid, but apparently there's a secret challenge mode that I didn't heard about until recently. Guess I've gotta do another run at some point...

This was my Super Mario World or Super Mario Bros 3. I grew up with this game. In my opinion, 2D Mario at its peak, just solid level design, fun movement, and a thoughtful package in one. The minigames and Mario vs Luigi were also fun additions for when playing with other kids.

It's okay. I'd put it below the original Super Mario Bros (which I gave a solid 3), so I'm giving this an okay 2. This one works all right for a newcomer to 2D platformers, as it's quite easy and very forgiving. Getting all the big coins can provide more of a challenge and replayability, if you like collectibles. I'm …

I'm not a fan of the look of this game, which became more or less the standard for all Mario games that followed.

Last night I got the D pad and buttons working better for my DS Lite. A year or so ago someone I worked with found out I enjoy video games and gave me a very used pink DS Lite.

I played around with it a bit but the D pad was not very responsive and I stuck it on the shelf to just admire it's beauty because heck I like to collect consoles and games whether or not I play them.

A couple weeks ago my wife wanted to play Mario and she experienced the same thing with the unresponsive buttons. In the past I've managed to get NES controllers to work by opening them and cleaning off contacts with rubbing alcohol and blowing out dust with compressed air. This method worked pretty well for the DS Lite and I got the buttons to work better. They're still a little tough to press but I made Mario playable!

A nod to old-school Mario with some additions, such as the Mega and Mini Mushrooms. This doesn't have the same quality as classic Mario games, but it was still a good adventure.

It's been a long time coming but I finally bested my bro in the Wanted! mini game. (219 was the score from like 10 years ago)enter image description here
