More Fun Than I Expected, But Clunky Indeed

Preliminary: (To note, I am playing the original DOS version). I see its flaws for sure, but I love the music and most of all I love the Practice feature for me to get used to the clunky controls. Preliminary: (To note, I am playing the original DOS version). I see its flaws for sure, but I love the music and most of all I love the Practice feature for me to get used to the clunky controls. I doubt I will play many actual levels, but that was true of most the Lemmings games since I'm not usually a big puzzle game guy (except, apparently, when it comes to Picross). But with great music and this early 3D vibe and a neat starting FMV, I certainly gotta give this more credit than it tends to get. I can't claim I love all the voice soudn effects, but everything is customizable so it's nice.

Even tho I got through only one Fun Level lol, I had fun playing around in general, laughing at mistakes and deaths, and laerning the quirks and mechanics. That being said, as much as I would lvoe to give this a 4 star, the camera controls and other clunkiness that made its average rating so low is what holds me back too.

A game with a soul that is sadly terrible.

Lemmings as a concept, doesn't excite me that much. but I can definitely enjoy a puzzle strategy type of games like this one from time to time, and often can sink some hours in without knowing.

This can be applied on this 3D entry as well, regardless of how terrible the execution of it is.

Lemmings as a concept, doesn't excite me that much. but I can definitely enjoy a puzzle strategy type of games like this one from time to time, and often can sink some hours in without knowing.

This can be applied on this 3D entry as well, regardless of how terrible the execution of it is.

It is a limited game. much limited than the first entries ever did. and in the scope of this limitation, they try to add the 3rd dimension on this game. you will see and find the lemmings marching down to their doom, or their life. you will see what each of them tries to accomplish to help the pack survive in a much closer position, and find what goes on beyond the limitation of the 2nd dimension. but this doesn't mean the game is pure from flaws.

As mentioned, the game is much more limited here. but, while they try to add more layers to the onion "pun intended", the pure imagination of this game sinks so hard, you will not be able to find breath. you are inside a square. you can see the edge of the map, this is a 2d concept in 3d. much more close to something like the first Sonic 3D attempt before it got cancelled.

The game's soul was in the right place, but the execution was ultimately horrible.
