No room for creativity
Playtime: 3h10m
Intro
ATD is a tower defense game with mazing (you create the enemy path). It has the most basic towers you can think of (archer, catapult, ice) and nothing else. No spells, no skills, no special upgrades - nothing.
The good

ATD is a tower defense game with mazing (you create the enemy path). It has the most basic towers you can think of (archer, catapult, ice) and nothing else. No spells, no skills, no special upgrades - nothing.
The good
- Three difficulty levels.
- Insectoids are a neat concept. They crawl over towers which disables them.
- The game saves every wave and you can freely reload those saves! Every TD should have this.
- Lots of maps.
The meh
- There are special squares and there is mazing, but you can't really use these in a creative way.
The bad
- The towers are extremely bland.
- Same goes for upgrades, it's just "number goes up".
- No progression system.
- Every map has a "correct" way to play. Even on Normal difficulty you may have to replay maps to find the "solution".
Conclusion
As the developers point out, this is more of a puzzle game than a traditional TD. And i generally don't care for puzzle games. It's also so bland in its execution, and there's nothing to spice things up. Not even a freaking damage spell or whatever. Meh.
