Finally got around to play this masterpiece and I'm hooked. Can't believe how impressive the visuals are for a 9-year-old game (actually the remaster is 3 years old but still).

I absolutely love this franchise. UC1 was the first game I played on my PS3, and UC2 was the first game I owned for it. Played through all of them multiple times, and got the Platinums, which sparked an interest in trophy hunting in me as well.

So I really wish I could point out why UC4 didn't leave an impression on me. It's obviously technically better, did all the main franchise stuff while expanding in an interesting way. I love the game conceptually and can't really point any obvious faults (except that it drags a bit too long). So why don't I love this game and think it was kinda forgettable? Wish I could say. Only once in the whole game was I actually feeling any excitement. (The truck chase sequence).
Only criticism I have is how the game blueballs you with the main theme - LOVE it and hate that they changed. Yes I get the new one fits thematically - but I was totally expecting the whole thing to play in the credits. It did not.

This game was the best game I played in the PS4 / PS4 Pro era, hands down. Stop and think about that for a second. Think about the games that people go on and on about from that era (all of which I've played and beaten as well). This game just slaps from start to finish.

This game has an amazing story, the characters have a synergy that you just don't find in most games and it legitimately feels like you're in an action movie -- James Bond, Indiana Jones, Goonies, etc all rolled into one. There were times in this game where I couldn't believe I was actually controlling the character in relation to the Michael Bay shit that was happening on the screen. Also, the way they wrap-up the story had me emotional, it's so damn good!
I completed the main storyline in about 17 hours on PS4 Pro. This is a game I really need to play the DLC for and just revisit for a playthrough (and I'm not someone that re-plays games typically). I'm sitting here just thinking how damn good this game was.

Finally, a story with actual meat on its bones, actually fleshed out themes, tons and tons of parallels, and story beats that actually pay off well. I played on Hard to try and squeeze out its mechanics, but I was funneled into the same cover shooting mechanics, which is a shame because the encounters are actual arenas rather than corridors. With stealth being expanded upon, I don't understand why they removed silenced weapons. Even on Hard, I felt like I could always be caught if I just peeped my head out for a second. I felt like a kid forced to only play with the monkey bars rather than the whole playground. I have yet to play it on normal to see if I'd have more freedom than I really should have. I'm likely to replay it again soon.
Uncharted plus Last of Us 1 ranking 2 = 4 > TLOU >>> 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 1

Crash Bandicoot PSX at 120 FPS is so surreal to look at.
Humans should not see this, yet Iron Galaxy showed it to us.

That doesn't mean this is a great movie. Not a all. The dialogues are awful and the plot is a mess. But Tom Holland really has a lot of charisma (even if its a different kind of charisma than the Nathan Drake from the games) and the climax is extremely ridiculous and fun. I had a good time.
Having a Sully without mustache? That is a damn crime.

I think I’m solidly over halfway through the game now. For all the enhancements and tweaks this brings to the series, it can still be painfully formulaic, predictable, and drawn-out in its mission design, objectives, and overall structure. I am usually one to binge through games quickly, but I can only take 1, maybe 1.5 chapters at a time before wanting to stop. That’s out of… 22 + a prologue and epilogue, apparently. The game’s positive aspects and my investment in the series will slowly carry me through whatever’s left regardless, I guess. It is definitely good in many ways, but I have no idea where I’ll really land on the overall experience by the end.

Played through the end of Chapter 6 on the new PS5 version. The rendering and animation of characters just feel amazing. I can only hope it will do what its predecessor couldn’t and maintain this variety of mission feel and this engaging storytelling for the rest of the game. I’d say the fact that it’s the 30th highest rated game on the site gives me some cause for optimism…

As usual, we're slowly working our way to a Bloodborne PC port!
This should be a particularly interesting one, though. I've been enjoying the Horizon port on PC.
