Nice Second chapter that brings more of the same with more challenging action-puzzles

Heart of the Alien is really cool how it starts off, but the puzzles begin to shape quickly and express thesmelves a bit differently from the first game. First, most of the puzzles are straight up 'shoot or be shot' puzzles. There are also a lot of obstacles you must jump around and not step on. Unlike the first game, I dont think there are any 'gotchas' (the water filling up the caverns) so that's an improvement, however most of the puzzles are some form of an action puzzle that requires timing, and for that reason there are some really hard and stressful, reptitive bits. enter image description here
I loved this weird world. the flying dragon shown in the intro (the ending of Another World) reminded me of the old VR game Dactyl Nightmare from the 1990's

The game is harder than the first, and i thought the first game was overly hard to the point it made such a great narrative not as accessible (why i'm just now finishing these two games) unless playing through an emulator. The story was okay but felt a bit more like supplemental material than core material.

I look forward to playing Flashback at some point in the near future hopefully, i'm sure i'll appreciate it more having experienced these two classics properly, finally.

It's not too long and while the second one was a test of patience in some spots, i highly do recommend checking these two games on the SegaCD through an emulator such as RetroArch!
