Just finished Cat Quest! Here are my thoughts on the game, which I will later add to my review, once I've completed Cat Quest II:
Cat Quest is a pun filled RPG in which you take on the role of a cat trying to rescue their sister from a dastardly villain. While the story seems pretty cliche, Cat Quest makes up for it with its colourful world and cute characters, both of which were a welcomed change for someone who just finished Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor.
The game's gameplay is, like its story, pretty simple and straightforward. You have one button to attack, one button to dodge and you can choose to use four magic spells. Its really with these spells that you canpersonalise your cat hero to your preferred playstyle. There are eight different spells, which all be upgarde, that can help you be a more offensive or defensive fighter. In addition, there is also a variety of equipment for you to find and equip, that will affect you health, melee damage and magic.
For anyone experienced in playing action RPGs, Cat Quest will not provide a challenge and most players will find that they will …

For anyone experienced in playing action RPGs, Cat Quest will not provide a challenge and most players will find that they will complete the game in less than ten hours. However, the appeal of Cat Quest, for me, is its simplicity. It one of those games that I will play inbetween larger, more complex games and I will still enjoy it immensely.
Overall, I would recommend Cat Quest to anyone who wants to try out an action RPG but doesn't want too difficult an experience or to anyone who want a nice, short and simple game that excels in its simplified gameplay.
