This was an interesting one. The game actually has a lot of pretty cool ideas in it. It has a perk and upgrade system that makes it actually resemble a pretty decent stock RPG... While racing/fighting you have several tactical considerations, you can also shake people down for money by beating them up or avoid them and just win the race. (The nature of combat is really good in this and It's REALLY fun to murder everyone on the racetrack as fast as you can, haha.) there's all kinds of weapons, guns, bombs etc. (And as you upgrade your character you unlock better weapons that you start the race out with, it's a pretty nice complementary system that works well for the game)

Unfortunately, there are issues. The game is basically a marathon race where you are to go through each of the (five? I think that's right) levels or zones (each zone is a few levels or races, then you go to the next zone which is a drastic change of scenery) The first zone is awesome but the second one is absolutely a nightmare and I dare say it is impossible (you are racing on rooftops and have to make all sorts of jumps, I couldn't for the life of me complete a single race without constantly flying off the buildings... Just terrible)

I really wish there was some way for me to complete this game and finish it properly, as it is a good time but just on the first zone. I'd be curious to see what the others are like, but I imagine they difficulty ramp continues and that second zone is nigh impossible.

I am somewhat familiar with the original series, but it's been a while... Neat to see someone making vehicular combat games these days, would love to see more spiritual successors to games like this, maybe stealing the ideas and not making a bullshit rooftop race level that's too darn hard!
