This game is definitely going to be popular with a certain demographic of gamers, but for me the whole thing is far far too slow. Read moreThis game is definitely going to be popular with a certain demographic of gamers, but for me the whole thing is far far too slow. As you enter a new technology phase you often have to re-juggle all of your resources, re-balancing as you go isn't a challenge but it's just dreadfully time consuming. I reached a point where my resources were stable and the end was in sight but then I realized I would have to spend countless hours waiting to build up an armada. A half dozen instantly built harbour turrets can annihilate a 15 strong fleet. I figured I could guess the outcome and stop wasting my time. I much preferred the previous titles where resource management wasn't a full time waste.
