I just don't find it that scary. It's really too linear for it to be that way, and you always do the same things. Outside of that, it just recycles things we've seen in the horror genre for a long time. Solve puzzles (easy, fetch-quest style puzzles), and run from a monster when it sees you.

I just don't find it that scary. It's really too linear for it to be that way, and you always do the same things. Outside of that, it just recycles things we've seen in the horror genre for a long time. Solve puzzles (easy, fetch-quest style puzzles), and run from a monster when it sees you.
Though the monsters are pretty gruesome and awesome, it's laughable how you can get away from them sometimes. They see you, you duck into somewhere, they know you're there, but they keep going.
They kind of hit the right atmosphere though, because the game is dark and moody. It's a shame though that that doesn't lead to big scares or being creeped out because of the repetition and linearity of the experience.
