I started Gnosia as my 2nd time loop game and was immediately skeptical of the gameplay. It feels like a much more complicated version of the party game Mafia (AKA Wink Murder), which is unfortunate because I don't like playing Mafia as I'm quite bad at it. Thankfully, the game eases you into its rules while kicking off the story.

I wasn't sure if I was going to find the fun but then I realized I kept starting a new game. "Why?", you may ask. Well, there's a clever leveling up mechanism in the game loop that's simple yet powerful. At the end every game, you get experience points, but you can only use those points to level up and pick new attributes after the first round of the next game, when you're already invested in winning the game. I probably played 10 games before realizing that I had intended to stop playing an hour earlier.

I'm staring at the HLTB estimate of 18.5 hours for this and am not sure if I'll hold on, but then I'll probably just accidentally start 100 more games and finish it before I know it.

An absolute gem of a game. Great story, characters, and use of gameplay. Would love it though if characters like Comet were allowed to have clothes.
