I was expecting a point-and-click adventure here, but the game was strange, with this action combat and the pushing boxes back and forth. What were they thinking? I expected more from Wadjet Games, especially after Blackwell, etc. It's a shame, the story isn’t that exciting either.

Surprised this is so highly regarded

Yeah so I didn’t finish it. It was very slow, monotonous, and retro in a bad way. The puzzles were confusing and left me just clicking around, I never felt a sense of purpose or momentum, I just felt so bored by the art, gameplay, and story.

My rating is just what I give games I don’t finish, so take it with a grain of salt… but if ur looking for a sci-fi point and click I much more recommend Technobabylon, one of my favorite games of all time.

Edit: ended up finishing it, it’s okay. The ending was very cool story-wise, but I still felt the game was a bit boring and monotonous.

A solid adventure game in retro style. Gemini Rue runs only in 320x200 resolution, so people who play games for good graphics should stay away. But people who enjoy a cool story in the style of Blade Runner should definitely give this one a look! Puzzles are not too hard, although I did look in a walkthrough at one point. For me that is a good thing, as I find it frustrating to solve overcomplicated puzzles that detracts from the story.
Gemini Rue was developed almost singe-handedly by Joshua Nuernberger, who studied at UCLA at the time. I find this to be quite incredible since it is easily comparable with many adventure games from the "good old days". Recommended!

I found Primordia to be much much better.

Old school graphics with scifi atmosphere like in the Blade Runner. Mysterious story which is absolutely intertwined and surprising. Yes, it is common point-and-click adventure but for me this is not a problem.
