I am currently around hour 8-9, and something amazing finally happened. Well, a series of things.

I came in 21/22nd place against Very Easy opponents - and then in 6th, and then in 2nd, and finally, FINALLY, I won an actual career race! I couldn't believe it. It was the hardest I've tried in any sports game in years haha. …

I did manage to figure out that you should change your gearing to Short before every race, which gives you better acceleration but a lower top speed. Supercross doesn't really require a top speed since you're constantly stopping and going, but you definitely need that acceleration coming out of turns to clear those huge triples. Outdoor racing is a different story, but the short gearing really helped me out.

As I've put in a good bit of learning hours so far, I've also unlocked nearly all of the available upgrades for the first two racing tiers.

Looking forward to moving up to the 450s! So much easier to clear jumps with the big bikes.

Trying to get into this title. Coming from the MX vs ATV series, the controlling feels a little loose so I'm trying to get a handle on that. First person view can be a bit troublesome, as the camera points where the front of the bike is pointing, not where the riding would be looking (like while initiating a lean). It's funny because it goes against the principle idea of looking where you want to go rather than straight down at your front tire.

I've been steadily feeling more comfortable with the controls, and the load times on the PS5 version are great. <5 seconds and you're in a race, which is really, really nice and seamless. That being said I have yet to not come in last place, and supercross is challenging enough as it is - casing landings is a regularly occurrence but I am aiming to get the flow down while focusing on perfecting my tighter turns.

Gorgeous game, btw.
