castlevania per psp

ottimo castlevania che contiene al suo interno rondo of blood e symphony of the night. credo sia l'edizione migliore per assaporare questi classici, visto che l'edizione requiem per ps4 mi sembra eccessiva per l'hardware: meglio poterlo emulare su pc o portarlo in giro. Voto: 8.8/10

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is the PSP remake of "Castlevania: Rondo of Blood" which was never released in the US (American audiences had to make due with Rondo's vastly inferior port "Dracula X"). This remake sports CGI cut scenes, new dialogue, added gameplay mechanics, and an extended Boss Fight with Dracula (but I think the original is better, if ever so slightly). Also the original Rondo of Blood, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and the joke game Akumajyo Dracula Peke are unlockable through playing the main game.

I initially started out thinking the main game was frustratingly hard, most likely because my only exposure to the series up to that point was the Metroidvania style "Castlevania: Circle of the Moon", and I only persisted in playing so I could unlock Symphony of the Night. After playing Symphony, I shelved the game and moved on to other things. But one a day I was watching the YouTube channel SomeCallMeJohnny and a video entitled Johnny vs. Castlevania: Rondo of Blood & Dracula X popped up in my feed. The video had the titular Johnny explaining the different versions of the game in great detail and why Rondo was one of his favorite games in the series. So out of curiosity I picked the game up again and was astonished to find that I was loving it. Having a better understanding of how the game was meant to played made me appreciate the multiple pathways, unique unlockable character, and the fun but challenging bosses. Now "Castlevania: Rondo of Blood" is easily my favorite of the classic Castlevania titles and may just be my favorite of the entire series.

This game gets a hard ★★★★★ and my "Must Play" recommendation!
