KanColle Kai is the Playstation Vita version of the popular Japanese online browser game Kantai Collection, where the player is put in charge of a navy consisting of moe anthropomorphisms of World War 2 warships known as "fleet girls". It introduces various strategy elements such as hexagonal maps, in addition to a new resource transfer and escort system. Some maps within the game will allow two separate fleets to operate simultaneously, and the player is able to change the tempo of the game. I have tried multiple times to play the original KanColle browser game, but the region locking is exceptionally strong. I have tried multiple times to play the original KanColle browser game, but the region locking is exceptionally strong. Region locking has not stopped me from playing any other game, but this one is just layer after layer of barriers. Not even the guides could see me through. BUT!!! Today I finally got a physical copy of this, so while it obviously won't be the full game, I can finally experience KanColle to some extent and see what these ship girls are all about. Will it be better or worse than Azur Lane? Only time will tell.
