The Sopranos: Road to Respect (2006)

Not much to review here, honestly. The only thing keeping this game from being totally forgettable is the Sopranos license. Thankfully, it's pretty short, but it was still kind of a drag towards the end. As the story progresses, the game comes up with increasingly bizarre excuses to have you punch a bunch of dudes, including getting into a totally unnecessary argument about some guy peeing in the bathroom at a hospital. The conversations and cutscenes do feel like they could have been from an episode of the show, albeit a weak one, and they're just strung together with that tedious Smackdown gameplay.

Update: three missions in, this game is not very good. It's fun seeing the cast and locales from the series in video game form, but the actual gameplay is exclusively: run and talk to someone -> beat up some dudes -> repeat. The combat itself feels like one of those old Smackdown games but simpler, and you can use a gun a couple of times. Not enough to sustain the game, in my opinion. So, it's really all riding on being able to explore the Bing and Vesuvio and whatnot and, of course, those voice performances from the show's real cast. Thankfully, it looks to be pretty short, and I'm having a good time playing it with my girlfriend since we just watched through the show a few months ago.
