At first I wasn't sure if this was the game I had been thinking of. Most of the game was just chance/waiting, which was fine, and I wound up playing through the whole game lol. Then the only real challenge was the rapids which immediately brought me back and confirmed my memories. (This was version 1, so maybe I owned a later version when young.)
It was fun enough and I wound up playing through the whole game. As I mentioned before, the gold sifting once you're there is quite disappointing.
