Ratchet: Deadlocked is the fourth game in the Ratchet & Clank series by Insomniac Games. Omega mods can be used on any weapon, and range from the freeze mod to the magma mod. Alpha mods are weapon-specific, and increase the rate of fire, ammo capacity, and power. The game also features online multiplayer. Clank is not a playable character in this game, although he gives advice to Ratchet over his communication link. Less

This game is decent, I respect the developers for trying to do something different but ultimately the game feels very dense compared to the previous titles. The game lacks exploration and was changed to a more linear level/mission based style focusing on shooting which is fun but it does get stale. The game also feels very easy because of this and doesn't take much time at all to beat. The story is pretty basic and you don't come across many side characters like previous games.

Pros:

  • More gun levels while upgrading and every weapon has an ultimate form
  • shooting feels heavily improved from previous games
  • good soundtrack and voice acting along with good cutscenes like usual
  • can mod guns with added effects like lightning and acid

Cons:

  • Very basic guns and not a large selection
  • very little platforming and barely any exploration
  • linear levels are fine but the game feels very easy and dense
  • no clank gameplay

Better than the 2 sequels.

That's right, it knows what it is and fully goes into it. It's chaos extraordinaire, it's edgy, it's dark, it's a great console arena shooter, and yet it's rated 3+ here in Holland. Not the rating 3+, the literal minimum age to play it. This truly pushed the boundaries for age verification. I loved the gameplay and its simple story and I couldn't get enough of it. It's simply amazing and way better with more of an identity than its 2 former sequels to the first game.

Grinded 2 million bolts (500, 000 bolts/hr) in order to buy the harbinger using the following method: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wb0Y6l1RyJoEnded up not really needing the weapon and it ended up been underwhelming in power.
