This is a nice little title that I really enjoyed. The illustrated, muted art style is very effective. Music and sound design are nice, if a little scant. The story was cute. The gameplay and scaffolding difficulty through the quasi-puzzle platforming was great, each new feature being well explained and integrated in the coming levels. There were some later segments that got a little tedious, relying a bit more on luck or chance to get through. I was more than a little annoyed when having to redo a purposeful pitfall numerous times because the stupid prince kept faceplanting to the side of the mushroom platform I was aiming for, that's there to break his fall. At that point it's like, ok, this is just poor design. A number of the auto save points were placed a little too far back, which got frustrating having to repeat steps for no good reason. Some segments were just stupid and I had to look up what to do. All in all, though, cute game, fun time.

Super cute if a little slow

I liked playing a game like this in between games that take 30-50 hours (I'm a big JRPG fan) so this was a perfect fit. This only took me about a couple of hours between two days to complete. I liked playing a game like this in between games that take 30-50 hours (I'm a big JRPG fan) so this was a perfect fit. This only took me about a couple of hours between two days to complete. I thought the art was beautiful and unique and the story is touching. The gameplay is a little unpolished at times and checkpoints could've been better placed, but it wasn't so bad that I was getting too frustrated to continue.

Overall, I think $20 for an experience like this is a great deal and it's a darling little game.
