My neighbor who everytime I see him reveals he's a bit more of a gamer* told me he likes the Last of Us show. I'm not a hater, but I do think Last of Us is overrated and the whole "greatest story in videos games" marketing really put me off the show.** All this to ask- have you seen the Last of Us show and do you like it and recommend it to people who aren't in love with the game?

*Today he said to me "I prefer MegaMan X to MegaMan".

**The greatest story in video games is, of course, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

I just want Sony to stop hating on gamey games. Is that not hard to do? You don't need to be afraid of being a video game to make the medium be percieved as art and be taken seriously.

Sure the title menu song is beautiful (can't say I remember any other song from the game though) the graphics- both technically and artistically- are wonderful, the controls are tight and the shooting, satisfying. I mean with all that budget, of course you'd make a well polished game...as long as you're not EA or Ubi. But everything else about this game is overrated; the story is average and predictable most of the time, except the ending which was bold and memorable. Gameplay wise it didn't know what it wanted to be, a cinematic action or a survival. I'd say it's the former, with some crafting and upgrades that felt forced and negatively impacted my experience. Add to that repetitive puzzle-wannabes involving moving ladders and wooden planks around and you have in your hands more than a dozen hours of a mediocre AAA that is barely good enough to be played and finished, let alone be remembered.

I seriously love this game, it deserve the praise it gets and all that jazz.

It has a great story, it's emotional, terrifying, you connect with the characters and all that. To me nothing felt out of place or forced, I have a feeling that people who are dissapointed in this game are sought after something more actionpacked.

This game is not actionpacked, it plays more with your mind and thoughts, it's also more of a cinematic game, I don't know how to describe it but it's kinda like playing a darn good movie.

This game could easily be a movie and if I put together all the cutscenes it would probably still make sense as a movie.

My advice is just play this game and don't expect something with a lot of crazy things going on all the time and you won't be disappointed.

Finished TLoU for the second time (but on PS4), still very enjoyable experience. This playthrough I've made on Survivor difficulty, which added a lot of challenge to me. I replayed some parts dozen of times and it was hard, but not unbeatable.

So, now I'm ready to play the sequel and form my own opinion about this game.

I had 7 years to beat this game before part 2 and I left it to the final week. It really held up all of these years later. The story is obviously amazing, but the game mechanics are just as good.
