Amazing.

I’m a pretty big fan of strategy games and this is the game that got me into it. 20+ years later and this game is still fun as all hell and while it shows some age, it’s still amazing.

Arguably the best RTS of all time. I would play this endlessly on my PC at local LANs and with randoms back in the day! The campaign was a bit too tricky for me at the time, but it covers a wide range of eras and historic events with a bit of conjecture. With wonderful design and a legendary soundtrack, …

The first game I ever stayed up way too late playing. The only strategy game as far as I'm concerned. i love the monkey head is actually the only valid game character out there.

Best RTS I have Ever Played

This is the best RTS I have ever played, and I think often held as one of the best, if not the best of all time.

This is the best RTS I have ever played, and I think often held as one of the best, if not the best of all time.

I spent countless hours in 8th grade hopping onto my slow dial up internet, to play this game against opponents online. Decades later, I have logged hundreds of hours on Steam playing with friends.

This is one of my all time favorite games, and is well worth a try.

Graphically, it does what it needs to. Its not gorgeous, it doesn't have the massive battlefields like Total War, but things look decent, the maps look nice, and the details are clear, all an achievement for a game decades old.

Game play, especially with friends, is where this game shines. Limitless hours of fun can be had playing against friends or with them against computers. The civilization system works wonderfully to give slight advantages and disadvantages to each civilization, making trying each of them not only rewarding, but fun. In PVP, individual civs counter or assist each other in varying ways, leading to complex and fun systems of selecting based not only on team mates, but opponents, map, ect.

Steam picked this game up, and it is 100% worth picking up, as the game has been updated with balance tweaks to core units, as well as additions of new civs that changes the dynamics of the game.

Amazing

Amazing game. When developers do their work with love, this is the kind of product that comes to life. Fun and addictive like no other, The Age of Kings is the perfect prelude for the sublime expansion that was The Conquerors, the peak of the entire series.

I love this game. It is interesting to go into the different nations to see what type of strategies that this nations use. However after a while it can get boring, if you are alone. If you have friends to play this with this game is a blast. Like Civilization I spent a-lot of hours yelling at my friends a couple monitors away for destroying my monuments or castles. In short this was a good start in the real-time strategy genre. Also with this game being older now. It is pretty cheap to pick up for you and a friend to spend a lot of worth-while hours.

I will definitely recommend this game. Especially if you have friends.
