Today, I beat it via Deadly Silence, the DS port that adds a rebirth mode, a map on the top screen, quick turn, a knife button a la RE4, door skip, and cutscene skip. My favorite version of OG RE1 for cutscene skip alone.
Yesterday, I played this version up until I beat the first Tyrant fight because I forgot to let Barry drop the rope so he died.
