Far Cry Instincts is a reimagining of the original Far Cry, rebuilt for Xbox by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with Crytek. Players take on the role of Jack Carver, a former U.S. Navy serviceman turned illegal arms dealer who fled to Micronesia after a price was put on his head by the Mob. When a journalist hires him to ferry her to a remote archipelago, Jack's boat is destroyed by mercenaries and he finds himself stranded on an island hiding dangerous secrets. The game trades the open-ended level design of the PC original for a more linear, action-focused experience while introducing feral abilities, a trap system, vehicles, and an extensive map editor with online multiplayer support for up to 16 players. Cheeseburger In Paradise

A pretty crummy version of a notable PC game, Far Cry Instincts is evidence that shooters were turning towards larger, more open game worlds that emphasized freedom and experimentation. The aging 6th Generation machines couldn't keep up much longer. As an entry into the Far Cry series, you can't do much worse than this. Pretty cool map editor though!
