Really loved the game and what it showed, but i'd like to more from a deeper or detailed perspective about the background story what caused the happenings because i missed these details.
The atmosphere and the art-style is really great and loved that creative vision how they used the body horror elements what we see. The story is short and the walk through isn't longer than 5-6 hours...so maybe the steam price is higher than it should be...but with Gamepass it's totally worth the time and money to give a chance.
From last year for me the Indika was the top-tier horror experience. That's why i don't give 5 star to this, but it is a really decent game: 8/10
This is a walking sim with a little Soma/Outlast/Amnesia mixed in. But only in small doses and very clearly indicated.
It makes it so it is never scary but in those chase sequences full of tension. Otherwise it is dour and ponderous in mood.
I thought the story was interesting but not emotionally engaging, at least, for me personally.
I am kind of iffy on it as those hide-and-seek games do not really do it for me and live or die on the narrative (like a walking sim). Soma is still the high water mark but this was a pleasant enough 4 hours.
I probably died like 20 times, but only because of dodgy controls or physics, it DOES NOT play well outside of the walking sim side of things and the few platforming bits really brought this down for me.
Played on PC using GamePass and a controller.
Great atmosphere, voice acting and graphics. It's mostly a walking simulator with some interactions here and there and some horror sequences, but I enjoyed it.
If you have a bad Christmas, play this game and realize it could have been worse.
It’s a pretty middle-of-the-road experience that would have benefited from a longer stint of ‘normalcy’ at the beginning. The emotional heart (and horror) really could have been far better after getting to know the characters that are in the MC’s life a little better.
If there was a whole normal working day before shit went down, or a pre-rig section (or both) it would have actually had an impact. You only know who half of the important npcs are if you talk to everyone in the short intro section, and bc they’re all wearing the same thing more or less, there’s no real way to easily tell them apart out of a few obvious ones that they shoehorn you into talking to.
On top of that, the gameplay consists of frustrating chase and stealth sections that are creepy but not very fun. You’re supposed to be able to lure them away with throwing shit but they often see you anyway. Chase and stealth sections are usually under 30 seconds long, but if they were any longer it would have sucked bc they catch you …

You’re supposed to be able to lure them away with throwing shit but they often see you anyway. Chase and stealth sections are usually under 30 seconds long, but if they were any longer it would have sucked bc they catch you in 2 seconds no matter where you are; so even though chases felt anticlimatic, it’s WAY preferable to getting reset 20 times. And the real kicker is honestly the fact that at least on Playstation, the sprint is so finicky and it doesn’t work half of the time. Platforming is basic and fine.
I love the setting and the voice acting. The environments are well done and captivating, and I always give points for documents/posters/shit on billboards actually being legible. 3 stars.
I'm already loving this game. I did start playing it at night so I chickened out and am going to try and finish it while it's light out lol
I love these type of games.
Short, simple, cut to the point.
Some tension, lil bit of a story.
I really want to like XCloud, is perfect for someone like me with a good internet connection but not a 4k TV to tell the different in pixels, but sometimes it feels weird. I don't know if you can tell from a picture alone, but it kinda feels like playing directly from a YouTube video. In retrospective, that was a fantasy of mine when I was a little boy.

Holy shit! I did not expected those monsters designs!
Finished the game. The presentation is fantastic and I enjoyed it for a while. At the end I was ready to be done, though I am not as much a fan of experience oriented games with limited gameplay. The ending seemed a bit artificial giving a
I like the concept of this game more than the actual game. It has a great setup for the main character, perfect location, and fun dialect. The slow start to get to the action makes the horror elements more meaningful but without feeling too forced. You meet most of the crew in your day to day life before horrible things start happening.
The gameplay is mostly platforming, find the switch, and run away from the monsters. It works well, but after a couple hours it is wearing thin. About half way in
I take umbrage with the the fact that the two mechanical dishwashers are located on the complete opposite side of the work area from the KP station in the staff canteen kitchen, which makes zero sense from both a safety and practicality perspective. They also don't appear to be plumbed in, so maybe they are not installed? Otherwise, B+ marks to The Chinese Room for designing a mostly realistic kitchen work area. Kind of makes me nostalgic of my old life back in Scotland.
I can't understand why so many people are giving this game 3's. It's length (or lack thereof) certainly keeps it from standing up to other giants in the genre, but the story and attention to detail make this game such a treat. I'm rating it a 5 to bring it's score up and hoping that others give it a try. My actual rating is a 4/5.
When it's on sale for $20 or less this should be an instant buy for anyone who loves a good story.
The decision to translate colloquialisms is... a choice.
Side note, I guess I'm waiting for the July patch to resolve GamePass technical issues (not the first time a version on GamePass is older than versions available elsewhere and matches the console version of the game). Ignore the hyperbole from commenters on that thread, the important thing is that the devs indicate they are working on fixes.
Played the first couple hours of this and uh... It kinda fuckin rules?
I was scared it would be another "grandmother's footsteps" horror game like Amnesia, but no, it's kinda unique. You could almost call it a walking sim with action segments cut in.
No spoilers, but I will probably be finishing this one, and the use of horror as allegory for workplace safety is kinda fuckin brilliant, and my blue collar ass is loving what they've made here.
I bought it physical on PS5, but it's also on Game Pass. PUT THIS ON YOUR RADAR.
