Resident Evil: Director's Cut is an arranged version of the original game produced to compensate for the highly publicized delay of the sequel Resident Evil 2. The game contains a new arranged mode with various changes made to the game. The original release of the Director's Cut advertised an uncut version of the opening cinema in full colour and never-before-seen. Notable aspects of this video include shots of a corpse with bites taken out of the face, close-ups of zombie dogs bleeding when shot, and graphic quick-cuts of Joseph being bitten by these dogs. Just finished it for the first time, Standard Jill playthrough, I really liked this game. Then decided to try Chris out. Turns out this whole time I was playing an action-adventure game. Maybe I’ll play as Chris in the REmake.

final time

Just did a super casual playthrough with no guid on jill. Left the game paused for hours and did lots of backtracking. Now I'm going to do a causal speed run with Chris. My first play through was with the laughable Dual Shock sound track so I am excited to hear the original on this run!!

For jill I got a bad ending because I didn't realize you had to wait on Bary with the rope. With Chris I'm going to go for a good ending. Here is hoping! While I can appreciate this game more than I did in my first playthrough it's still hard for me to imagine giving it more than a 3. It's good and fun but very basic and a little unpolished and poorly paced in places.

And so it begins

The game that started everything for me. It sparked my obsession with horror games back when I was a teenager, although it doesn't mean they don't scare me. They do, a lot. But I still love playing them. I still remember my impression when I saw that iconic first zombie. This time around, I laughed! It was a nostalgic laugh, …

The game that started everything for me. It sparked my obsession with horror games back when I was a teenager, although it doesn't mean they don't scare me. They do, a lot. But I still love playing them. I still remember my impression when I saw that iconic first zombie. This time around, I laughed! It was a nostalgic laugh, as with most of the game. The dialogue is horrible and the controls super clunky (but that's what makes it a classic RE game), but it still has a dear spot in my heart. For its time, the game was innovative and the atmosphere perfect with the synthesizer music, camera angles, and the monster around the corner that you can't see until you bump into it. Still very entertaining for me, even after the first time I played it 17 years ago. The best part: the mirror reflections! It even scared me once! I mean, for a ps one game, to even havr reflections, that it something right?🤔

Just finished Chris playthrough. Now, to take a little break before Jill's. "Look at those monsters!"-Rebecca.🤣

It's fun enough but there's almost no reason to play this over RE:Make. It's not a bad game at all but everything it does has been done better. But no one can replace that sweet sweet voice acting and that end credits theme. 90's Capcom was dope.
