Getting carpal tunnel half-way through Half-Life isn't half gamer's hell. I might have to read a book if this continues. :-D Desperate measures.

I think my big mistake was playing the game on Hard. I'm really supposed to die in two hits of the first enemy of the game? The game also loses a lot of its appeal when you get a powerful weapon with unlimited ammo, and at that point I had already figured out many ways to "cheese" most of the baddies.

I still think you should play HF1, as it was undoubtedly revolutionary for 1998. It also helps you to better appreciate HF2 when you eventually play it.

I'm looking to get back into this a bit after seeing some of the developments that have happened after happening upon a place called RTSL. :) (I've never played a lot of things like DoD Source or even CS:GO) Is CS:Nexon Zombies any good? It looks interesting. the current iteration of SVen CoOp is way beyond anything i remember playing. I notice a few things on steam on stuff that is pre source era that's been lumped into free2play packages and often includes classic half-life (sven co-op) a lot of the other better mods that emerged, etc.))

After playing the original game, I can see why people liked this game since when it first came out. However, something about its POV causes motion sickness. This game tends to cause motion sickness to vulnerable people after prolonged gameplay, especially during the entire Xen part. I couldn't even play the Nihilanth fight for 15 minutes before lying down on the bed. People who are vulnerable to motion sickness should occasionally take a break while playing the game.
